How to Begin a
Relationship with God
YOU are here for a reason.
God has a purpose for YOU and your purpose starts by accepting Jesus.
God's Purpose
Peace and Life
God loves YOU and wants YOU to have peace in your life.
John 3:16- For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
But why do you or some people you know not have peace?
Sin
Sin keeps you from the peace God wants you to have.
God allows you to make choices, and sometimes you choose to disobey and make bad choices. When you do this, it's sin. EVERYONE sins.
Romans 3:23- for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
BUT THERE IS HOPE!
God's Solution
The Cross
God's Son, Jesus, lived a perfect and sinless life. He died on the cross and rose from the grave; He paid the penalty for EVERYONE'S sin. Jesus bridged the gap between God and mankind. Because of Christ, we are able to have a relationship with God.
1 Timothy 2:5- For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,
But how can you have a relationship with God?
Your Response
Receive Christ as your Lord and Savior
YOU have the choice to accept Christ or not. To accept Him, you must trust Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. When you accept Him, you will be with Him in Heaven for all eternity. If you choose not to accept Him, you will be in torment for eternity in Hell.
Romans 10:9-that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Admit you are not perfect and you need a Savior. (I am a sinner.)

Be willing to turn from your sins (repent) and ask for God's forgiveness.

Believe that Jesus died for you on the cross and rose from the grave.

Invite Jesus to come in and control your life. (Receive Jesus as Lord and Savior)
